Soft Water Benefits
Differences Between Salts
Some water treatment firms are promoting a ‘salt-free’ water softener solution. While we can offer clients the same solution, we do wish to make clients aware of the increased operational costs – something that these firms may not share with clients.
A quick chemistry lesson - The salt free systems use potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride. Both are technically from the salt family of chemicals, so the term ‘salt-free’ is somewhat misleading. Replacement bags of Potassium Chloride are much more expensive than salt, and as such, represent a significant additional expense to maintaining your water softener.
Our EcoWater brand of water softeners have been developed to be extremely efficient in the controlling of the amount of salt used. This is also a factor of the set up, and ensuring a trained expert calibrates your equipment properly.
Our EcoWater ECR and ERR models can be adjusted to either type of product – potassium chloride or sodium chloride – so the choice is yours!
If you wish to learn more about both systems, feel free to contact us. We would be happy to discuss both options.
